All the world's a stage

Things I've learnt:

Professionalism. Professionalism. Professionalism.
One has to always know his place. If he's a director, direct. If he's an actor, listen to the director, follow the script, and act. If he's the Stage Manager, manage. It's all in Plato's concept of a well-ordered soul. And we wonder why things don't work out fine.

This is in turn, tied to

Commitment. Commitment. Commitment.
You said you would. So do it. One has to be aware of his or her own actions. If one cannot commit. Don't. Doing so anyway would be tantamount to breaking a promise and would only cast doubts on one's character and maturity.

Speaking of that

Maturity. Maturity. Maturity.
One has to understand that there's a bigger picture beyond one's personal desires. That one is never bigger then humanity. There are a lot of other people involved, not just you, and not only in theatre. Look beyond yourself, stop being so self-absorbed and be macro. Also, there is no honor in being dedicated in doing what you like to do, rather it comes when you are dedicated in doing what you'd rather not do. So suck it up, and do it.

So in terms of my personality and character, I've got that to work on.

Artistically
Just because I cannot understand, does not mean it does not make sense,
Just becuase I cannot appreciate, does not mean that is it dumb, depthless and a feeble attempt at whatever. I do not set the bar for good art.
It's not really about what I want, but what works and for who.

There is always a fine line between the personal and the professional.
Distinguish between the two and give the respect due.

Can we all grow up a little here?
