Only when there is no task beneath you, would there be no task above you.
If you can shake the world, surely you can collect rubbish.
If you can't handle that, let's not talk about bigger things.

I think what really bothers me, is that I'm going to have to hang up the truth for a while.
When I don't have the strength

"Who is Aslan? Do you know him?"
"Well - He knows me."

It seems that my comments on Lawyers get a lot of feedback.
I'm thinking.
I like.

And I think that it all boils down to understanding the nature of Humanity. That we're all the same. Everything has been done, everything will keep repeating itself, and at the basic level, we're all. just. humans.

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve. That is honor enough to erect the head of the lowest begger, and shame enough to lower the shoulders of the greatest emperor. Be content."
Aslan in Prince Caspian
 ~ C.S. Lewis

And at the very core of humanity, it is not the law which saves or heals our innately corrupt and troubled nature. It's not enough. And besides, I think we totally miss the point of Law. Perhaps the accusation of Christ to the Pharisees of his day, is not far off from what is deserving of society:  "you have neglected the more important matters of the law justice, mercy and faithfulness." Matt 23:23

"A King is never above the Law, for it is the Law which makes him King"
King Lune in A Horse and His Boy
~C.S. Lewis

Man. redefined.

You ought never to learn something for pride or for power. All fields of thought come from humanity, to serve humanity. Never the individual.

You are never above your fellow man.
The higher you go, the harder you should serve, or else, it all goes to nothing.

The human individual is most fulfilled when he is the Maker's tool for Humanity. What else are we here, on earth, for?

Similarly, A lawyer is never above the law. It is the Law which makes him a lawyer.

I am obsessed with understanding and knowing.
I want to know how and why.

So here's my education plan thus far
  • Get my B.A. in International Relations, minoring in Theatre
  • Do Law in NUS (Post Grad)
  • Get a Diploma in Flim Production.
  • Regent

all very exciting, though I doubt I can accomplish all that. Getting a 78% average to do IR is daunting enough.
