I guess one thing 公公 and I have in common, is that we both worship Lee Kwan Yew albeit for different reasons I'm sure. I don't know about him, but in my eyes, this man stands for a fierce self-awareness resulting in the ability to look at a world that is not his, a game whose rule-makers are set up against him, and not flinch. And beyond that, he recognized this reality, even when it is easier to delude oneself against its existance. And he did so without seeing the need to change himself and consequentially, us. We grew, naturally, instead of trying to fit our rounds bodies into square holes.

Maybe now, we're deformed circle-squares. But at least we are our own.

(I think.)

But at any rate. I look at him and see who I want to be: To recognize reality, to not be ashamed of inherent disadvantage, to embrace my being and to build life on strength, not hand outs.

This is your story, I want to see you live it well.

For the first time

I'm not stressed about not doing the things I feel like I ought to be doing. I just won't, if I don't want to. There's a line between obligation and responsibility. It has also become a boundary.

It is easier to ask for forgiveness then it is to ask for permission.

So now, are we supposed to applaud?

When elephants make love, the grass beneath their feet suffer. What more when they make war?
~ LKY: The Singapore Story.

We talk about the validity of policy enacted within different jurisdictions. What about the validity of the structures that differentiate these jurisdictions?

I have ALMOST made my peace with snow.
In deep silence and prayer, it is almost possible to hear the calm.

What I don't recall is why I said, I simply can't sleep in this tiny bed with you anymore.

Today, my roomie questioned the logic of using air over water in freezers. She also compared my soaking chicken to dead drowned bodies. The other described the encounter she had with the chicken out on the deck. It was a beautiful day.

Thank god for roomies. Apart from boardgames and movies, life here is pretty sad.

My Ex-Lover is Dead

God that was strange to see you again, introduced by a friend of a friend. Smiled and said 'yes I think we've met before, in that instant it started to pour. Captured a taxi despite all the rain, We drove in silence across Pont Champlain. And all of the time you thought I was sad, I was trying to remember your name...

This scar is a fleck on my porcelain skin, tried to reach deep but you couldn't get in. Now you're outside me, you see all the beauty, repent all your sin

It's nothing but time and a face that you lose. I chose to feel it and you couldn't choose. I'll write you a postcard, I'll send you the news from a house down the road from real love...

Live through this, and you won't look back...

There's one thing I want to say, so I'll be brave. You were what I wanted, I gave what I gave. I'm not sorry I met you, I'm not sorry it's over.

I'm sorry there's nothing to save
